Sascha Wagener's journey began at a very early age. Inspired to practice martial arts by his father, he started training as a child and intensified it more and more until he trained almost every day. This passion was driven by the desire to experience the mystical and learn the secrets of ancient traditions. So he decided to study Japanese language and history at university and to commit himself completely to the path of the seeker.
Initially, his research trips took him to Japan and Okinawa, and later to China and India. Piece by piece, his spectrum expanded from martial arts to ancient health techniques and healing methods.
Sascha always sought to combine and bring together all the different disciplines, and he passionately explored the commonalities of the various traditions around the world. This inspired him to go unconventional ways and to leave the established associations and styles. Among other things, he co-founded the international society for the study and training of traditional martial arts 'Missing Link Martial Arts' with other masters. And he started the 'Secret Elements' Qi Gong and therapy system with the well-known kinesiologist Martin Nienhaus.
In 2014, he set out on a 2-year research trip to rediscover ancient, near-lost traditions of movement systems, martial arts, and energy work around the world. During this trip, Sascha, Joana, and Camilla met for the first time in Vietnam and laid the foundations for what would later become the Hero Tribe.
During his travels, Sascha had the opportunity to learn from outstanding teachers and to pass on his knowledge to people from all walks of life. He worked with billionaires, lords, monks, the sick, children, indigenous people, corporate teams and many more.
The Hero Tribe now brings all his experiences together in one place.

One of her passions - surfing
Camilla had a passion for traveling and surfing, and on top of that, she felt the obligation from her family to pursue a prestigious career. So she made the rational decision to go into the luxury hotel business. She studied hotel management in The Hague and then worked in famous 5 star hotels in London, Bora Bora, and finally in Vietnam. Interestingly, her idea of working and surfing did not come true. And she always slipped past suitable surf spots.
Finally, in Hanoi, Vietnam, the realization grew that she was on a path that no longer made her happy. Long hours at work, stress, friends coming and going, brought her close to burnout and collapse.
This call to adventure left her looking for something new in her life. She hired a coach, she studied holistic methods, and finally quit her hotel career and opened a fitness brand with her Vietnamese-Polish partner.
During this time, she met Joana and Sascha because she attended a Qi Gong class they gave in Hanoi. Hooked by the method of Qi Gong, she also completed the following teacher training and so the three of them became friends.
After 4 years, she decided to end her time in Vietnam and return to Europe. She took the time to be trained in different methodologies. She studied Qi Gong, Yin Yoga and Japanese Shiatsu massage. She spent summers at a surf camp in Portugal, where she was finally able to surf enough while offering yoga and shiatsu.
With her experience in the business world, it was now time to build something new.
And so began the Hero Tribe from Camilla's perspective.
She brought her love for working with people and being of service to the Tribe from the beginning. She built our outstanding heartfelt customer service and is the organizer behind most Hero Tribe projects. And every year she is now doing things she would not have dared, or could not have imagined, doing the year before.
Joana
Science and spirituality

Joana's earlier life as an oriental dancer
Joana Gumpert had a talent for movement from a very early age. She trained as an oriental dancer and performed at many events during her school years. Later she trained in many different methods of movement, including Kungfu in a temple in China.
Even as a child, she was committed to the environment, and felt a deep connection to the natural world. Therefore, she chose to study environmental science at university. At first, this appealed greatly to her rational side. She became a scientist and earned her master's degree in landscape ecology.
During her studies, she got an offer to conduct a study at an institute in Vietnam and decided to travel for a year. Sascha, whom she had known for a long time from her hometown, was on his 2-year research trip, and they agreed to meet in Vietnam.
Later they both traveled to Australia, where Joana rediscovered her intuitive side. They spent a lot of time with Australia's past life expert Toni Reilly and lived with her for a while and participated in her trainings. These experiences reawakened a long-buried aspect of Joana and initiated her shamanic studies.
Finding a connection between her scientific world and her spiritual work created tension in her life for a long time. Joana's individual hero's journey and her unique gift is to be able to connect these worlds in wonderful synthesis. This is also what makes her outstanding as a mentor, ceremony leader, and trainer.
Besides being one of the founders of the Hero Tribe and developer of our methods and programs, she is also dedicated to species diversity in landscape and nature conservation and supports a project for the reintegration of natural biotopes with her expertise and enthusiasm.
